The Australian Bureau of Statistics will no longer publish year-on-year CPI index in its quarterly reports, as the agency is shifting towards a monthly inflation framework to align its reports more with international practices. Australia's Chief Statistician, David Gruen, stated on Tuesday that the new overall inflation measure will be based on full monthly CPI data. He added that users can still calculate year-on-year inflation rates based on quarterly data.
