On the 26th, US President Trump said that the situation in Iran is still "evolving," and he has dispatched a fleet larger than the one near Venezuela to the Middle East, while also believing that Iran does want to reach an agreement. Trump said in an interview with the US Axios news website that "we have a massive fleet near Iran, even larger than the one near Venezuela." He also mentioned that diplomacy is still an option, and that Iran "wants to reach an agreement." Axios quoted sources saying that Trump has not made a final decision yet. He may hold more internal consultations this week and listen to reports on military options. With the arrival of the US aircraft carrier strike group, these options will be further enriched. US Central Command announced on social media on the 26th that the aircraft carrier strike group "Abraham Lincoln" is being deployed to the Middle East. CBS News reported on its website, citing a US official, that the aircraft carrier strike group has entered the area under Central Command's jurisdiction. The group reportedly includes three missile destroyers and carrier-based aircraft such as F-35C stealth fighters, F/A-18E/F fighters, and EA-18G electronic warfare aircraft.
