South Korean car stocks fell before the market opened, affected by threats of tariffs by President Trump.
Modern cars fell 4.4% in pre-market trading, after U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he would raise tariffs on cars, wood, pharmaceuticals, and all other reciprocal tariffs on South Korea from 15% to 25%. Kia fell 4.2%; Hyundai Mobis fell 4.3%; and Hyundai Glovis fell 3.9%.
