In order to implement the work deployment of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council for the Spring Festival travel rush, the State Post Bureau recently issued the "2026 Spring Festival Period Mail Service Guarantee Work Plan", emphasizing the need to coordinate to meet the mailing needs of the people and protect the legitimate rights and interests of couriers, and solidly carry out the work of ensuring mail services during the 2026 Spring Festival period. The work plan points out that this year's Spring Festival will start on February 2nd and end on March 13th, lasting 40 days. The industry will experience three stages of the peak in the volume of goods mailing before the Spring Festival holiday, the decrease in business volume during the Spring Festival holiday, and the rapid recovery of service demand after the Spring Festival holiday. It is necessary to carefully meet the mailing needs of the people, legally protect the legitimate rights and interests of couriers, and maintain safe operation of the industry. The work plan emphasizes that efforts should be made to ensure mail services for people's goods before the Spring Festival, effectively guarantee basic mail service demand during the Spring Festival holiday, and organize the industry to resume production and operation in an orderly manner after the holiday. Postal and express delivery companies should focus on meeting the needs of the people for purchasing goods before the festival, timely collect and provide mailing services as agreed. China Post Group Co., Ltd. should ensure the continuous provision of universal postal services. Express delivery companies should scientifically predict changes in business volume, formulate reasonable Spring Festival holiday operation plans, and announce service times and service areas to the public in advance and strictly provide services according to the information announced to meet the basic mail service demand during the Spring Festival holiday.
