The first national standard for classification and coding of traditional Chinese medicine diseases has been released.

Today, reporters learned that the State Administration for Market Regulation has approved the release of the recommended national standard for the classification and codes of Tibetan medical diseases. This standard was drafted by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and will officially be implemented starting from April 1st. The "Classification and Codes of Tibetan Medical Diseases" adheres to the academic theory of Tibetan medicine, meets the clinical diagnostic needs of Tibetan medicine, classifies Tibetan medical diseases into three major genetic diseases and 15 major categories such as lung diseases, and 97 detailed sub-categories. The standard also includes a table of Tibetan medical disease names and classification codes, specifying the codes, Tibetan medical disease names, and their corresponding Chinese names for over 3000 diseases.
