In recent times, many institutions such as Agricultural Bank Wealth Management, China Post Wealth Management, CMB Wealth Management, and Bank of Shanghai Wealth Management have lowered the performance benchmarks of their wealth management products, with some products experiencing a maximum decrease of 100 basis points. After adjustments, the upper limit of the performance benchmarks for most products is now less than 3%, highlighting the increasingly prominent characteristics of low returns in the wealth management market. Experts interviewed point out that this adjustment is driven by changes in the market interest rate environment and regulatory guidance, and that performance benchmarks will continue to face downward pressure in the future, but the rate of decline will gradually narrow.
