New safety belt regulations in Hong Kong come into effect, violators can be fined and imprisoned.

Hong Kong Road Traffic Safety Regulations will be updated, starting on the 25th, all passengers on public transportation and commercial vehicles must wear seat belts. Vehicle owners, drivers, or passengers who violate this rule may be fined up to HK$5,000 and face up to 3 months in prison.
