US oilfield service provider SLB stated that, with the necessary permits and meeting safety and compliance requirements, the company can quickly expand its business activities in Venezuela. It is reported that SLB recently met with officials from the White House to discuss potential investment opportunities in Venezuela. SLB is currently the only international oilfield service company still operating in Venezuela, providing services for Chevron within its licensing framework. Chevron is also the only large US oil company currently producing crude oil in Venezuela.
