The Statistics and Census Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region government released data on the 23rd showing that the total number of inbound tourists to Macao in 2025 reached 40.69 million, an increase of 14.7% compared to the previous year. Mainland China and the Greater Bay Area continued to play a supporting role in the source of tourists, while the number of international tourists also maintained rapid growth. In terms of tourist source structure, the number of inbound tourists from mainland China reached 29.17 million in 2025, an increase of 18.5% compared to the previous year. The number of international tourists also grew rapidly. In 2025, Macao received 2.7554 million international tourists, an increase of 13.7% compared to the previous year. In terms of entry channels, land routes remain the main method. In 2025, the number of tourists entering Macao by land reached 33.084 million, accounting for 82.6% of the total number of tourists, an increase of 19.1% compared to the previous year. The data also showed that in 2025, the total number of same-day visitors reached 23.5249 million, an increase of 24.6% compared to the previous year; while the number of overnight visitors reached 16.5444 million, an increase of 3.1% compared to the previous year.
