The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology publicly solicits opinions on the plan for revising the mandatory national standard "Metaverse Classification and Identification Digital Personal Identity Requirements".

According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in accordance with the overall arrangements for standardization work, the mandatory national standard project plan for the application of "Metaverse Classification and Identification Digital Persona Identity Requirements" is now made public. In recent years, with the continuous maturity of digital human editing and intelligent interaction technologies, China's digital human industry has developed rapidly. Currently, there are over 1.14 million related companies domestically, and from November 2024 to May 2025, there will be an additional 174,000 registered companies. It is predicted that by 2025, the scale of China's digital human industry will exceed 40 billion yuan, driving the scale of surrounding industries to over 600 billion yuan. Digital humans are widely used in areas such as hosting performances, e-commerce live streaming, brand marketing, customer service, and education and training, with a wide range of application scenarios. However, as the digital human industry develops, risks are also becoming more prominent. Due to the lack of an effective digital persona identity management mechanism, the internet space is filled with a large number of unidentified digital human images.
