Dalian has become the first city in Northeast China with a GDP exceeding one trillion yuan.

The Statistics Bureau of Dalian City, Liaoning Province announced on January 23 that by 2025, Dalian City will achieve a regional GDP of 1,002.1 billion yuan, calculated at constant prices, an increase of 5.7% over the previous year. Dalian City will become the first city in Northeast China to surpass one trillion yuan in GDP.
