Volkswagen Group plans to reduce the number of board members of its core brand by one-third.
On January 21, Volkswagen Group announced that by the summer of 2026, the total number of board members from the four core brands that make up the group will be reduced by about one third. Volkswagen stated that this restructuring will further streamline the internal management structure of the core brand group. In particular, the group mentioned that, only in the production area, the restructuring management model can release a cumulative cost-saving potential of 1 billion euros by 2030.
