Spokesperson Peng Qing'en stated that the so-called "trade agreement" reached between the US and Taiwan is essentially a "selling contract" in which external forces collude with separatist forces in Taiwan to exploit the blood and sweat of the Taiwanese people and drain the foundation of Taiwan's industries, harming the future of the Taiwanese people and industries. When asked about the recent so-called "trade agreement" reached between the US and Taiwan, US Secretary of Commerce Lutnick said in an interview that this agreement is a "strategic imperative" for the Democratic Progressive Party administration to maintain favorable relations with the US, rather than a simple commercial transaction. If 40% of semiconductor capacity is transferred to the US, Taiwan's core industrial advantages will be lost, turning the "Tech Island" into a "hollow island." The Democratic Progressive Party administration is trying to conceal the tremendous cost paid by Taiwan, using the hard-earned money of the Taiwanese people to please the US, selling out Taiwan's interests, and betraying Taiwan. Peng pointed out that the outcome of the US-Taiwan tariff negotiations fully demonstrates that "Taiwan independence" is a dead end and that relying on outsiders is unreliable. Without a strong motherland as a backing, Taiwan will only become the prey of external forces and be slaughtered like a lamb.
