On the 20th local time, the office of Israel's Energy Minister Eli Cohen announced that starting from the 21st, the electricity supply to all facilities of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in Israel will be cut off, and water services will also be cut off in the "near future." It is reported that the Israel Electric Corporation had issued a warning letter on January 6, notifying that the power would be cut off 15 days later. This power cut will directly affect 7 facilities of the UNRWA in the area. On the morning of the 20th, Israeli authorities broke into the headquarters of the UNRWA in East Jerusalem, demolished the building and raised the Israeli flag.
