Construction of the Sichuan-Guangdong HVDC project in the Guangdong section has started.

On January 20th, the Tibet-Guangdong HVDC project stability growth and investment mobilization meeting and the groundbreaking ceremony for the first foundation of the Guangdong section were held in Boluo County, Guangdong Province. This marks the official start of construction for the Guangdong section of the project, which is a cross-regional clean power transmission "mega-project" that will establish a "power expressway" interconnected with flexible direct current, playing a significant role in increasing investment in power grid infrastructure. The total investment of the Tibet-Guangdong HVDC project is approximately 53.2 billion yuan, with a plan to invest over 1 billion yuan in the first quarter of 2026. As a national-level "mega-project," the Tibet-Guangdong HVDC project effectively supports stable growth and expanded investment. The project includes the construction of a "water, wind, and solar power integrated" power base with an investment of over 150 billion yuan, which will drive growth in upstream and downstream industries such as equipment manufacturing and construction, with an estimated peak construction period creating over 100,000 direct jobs, effectively promoting high-quality economic development in the region.
