Shanghai: Starting from February 1st, micro, light, and small drones can fly in the appropriate airspace without the need to apply for permission.
Starting from February 1st, the "Five Ones" system and a series of supporting measures for strengthening low-altitude flight safety supervision and guarantee in this city jointly launched by the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, Municipal Public Security Bureau, Municipal Data Bureau, Airport Group and other departments will officially be implemented. In the future, micro, light, and small unmanned aerial vehicles will be able to fly in the approved airspace without reporting, but will need approval from the air traffic management agency to fly in controlled airspace. The World Expo Cultural Park, Century Park, and Shanghai Botanical Garden will serve as public consumer-level drone flying experience zones.
