The foreign trade volume of the 9 mainland cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area reached a record high.
According to statistics from the Guangdong branch of the General Administration of Customs, in 2025, the total import and export volume of the 9 cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area reached 9.15 trillion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 4.7%, accounting for 20.1% of the total value of China's import and export trade, contributing more than 1/4 of the country's foreign trade increment. First, the overall trade volume remained stable and increased. In 2025, the import and export volume of the 9 cities reached a new level of 9 trillion yuan, reaching a historical high. Among them, exports were 5.83 trillion yuan, a growth of 2.7%, and imports were 3.32 trillion yuan, a growth of 8.5%. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the import and export volume of the 9 cities maintained positive growth, with an average annual growth rate of 6.2%. Second, the vitality of enterprises continues to surge. In 2025, the number of enterprises with import and export performance in the 9 cities exceeded 150,000, reaching a historical high. Among them, the number of private enterprises was 139,700, with import and export volume of 5.87 trillion yuan, both reaching historical highs, with growth rates of 20.3% and 4.3% respectively.
