Scholz made the remarks while attending an event in the western state of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, that day, stating that Germany must not be pressured by the current situation and that European countries must respond clearly. He stated, "This crosses a line," and that relevant countries are currently coordinating on how to respond to American threats.
