Musk claims Tesla has nearly completed the design of the AI5 chip and has already begun developing the next generation AI6.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk posted on X that the company's AI 5 chip design work for the fully autonomous driving system is basically completed, and it is now in the early stages of developing the next generation AI 6. Musk stated that Tesla hopes future chip iterations will have a design cycle of 9 months. After Musk's post on chip progress on November 24 last year, Tesla's stock price surged nearly 7%. The company uses these chips to support its autonomous driving car features and its still nascent robot product line.
