Maruti Suzuki will invest $3.9 billion to build a new factory in India.

The government of the Indian state of Gujarat in western India announced on Saturday that Indian car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki plans to invest 350 billion rupees to build a new factory in the state. Gujarat state officials said in a statement that the factory will increase the production capacity of the car manufacturer by up to 1 million cars per year, in order to expand production and meet the growing demand in both the Indian domestic market and for exports. Production at the factory is expected to begin in the fiscal year 2029, which will increase Maruti's annual production capacity to 2.4 million cars.
