The 42nd Antarctic expedition "Snow Dragon" ocean team begins ocean research work.
On March 16th, during the 42nd Chinese Antarctic expedition, the "Snow Dragon" ship was en route to the Amundsen Sea. Despite facing 4-meter waves and strong winds of level 7 from the west, the ocean team members of the "Snow Dragon" ship successfully deployed the first expendable bathythermograph of this voyage into the sea, marking the official start of the oceanic expedition. Zhang Haifeng, the captain of the ocean team of the "Snow Dragon" ship, stated that the team consists of 31 members from 12 domestic research institutes and universities, and "this expedition in the Amundsen Sea and its adjacent waters will focus on conducting investigations on key elements of the marine ecosystem."
