Chad condemns Sudan for the rapid deployment of armed forces across the border.

The Chadian government issued a statement on the evening of the 16th, condemning in the strongest terms the recent illegal cross-border armed actions by the Sudan Rapid Support Forces. These armed actions resulted in the deaths of 7 Chadian soldiers and multiple injuries. The Chadian government reiterated that since the outbreak of the crisis in Sudan, Chad has always maintained a neutral position. Chad does not take sides in the Sudanese conflict and will not allow this war, which is entirely internal to Sudan, to be carried out on Chadian territory. Any new acts of aggression, provocation, or violation of Chadian territory will be met with immediate, strong, and merciless retaliation.
