In order to implement the "Development Plan Outline for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" and actively participate in the construction of the Greater Bay Area, the Macao SAR government, the Public Security Police Force, the Identification Services Bureau, the Security Forces Affairs Bureau, and the Hong Kong Immigration Department continue to jointly optimize the convenience measures for customs clearance between Hong Kong and Macao. The above-mentioned departments have jointly decided that starting from January 19, permanent residents of Hong Kong and Macao can use each other's self-service clearance channels, and the applicable age limit has been lowered from 11 to 7 years old. In addition, eligible non-permanent residents aged 18 in both places can use local self-service machines for pre-registration, and after successful registration, they can use each other's self-service clearance channels for entry and exit within approximately 3 hours.
