In the northern region of South Africa, continuous heavy rain has caused multiple rivers flowing through Kruger National Park to burst their banks. Authorities announced on the 15th to suspend day-trip visitors from entering the park and evacuate some visitors and staff by helicopter. The South African National Parks Authority stated that apart from the area near the Letaba River, visitors staying in the park hotels can continue their stay.
