Hainan: By 2030, sustainable urban renewal modes and policies and regulations will be basically formed.

Notice from 11 departments including the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Hainan Province on the issuance of the "Action Plan for Promoting Urban Renewal in Hainan Province". It mentioned that by the end of 2027, initial results will be achieved in urban renewal actions, and the urban renewal system and mechanism will be established. The goal is to create model areas for urban renewal in 20 key areas, more than 5 vibrant neighborhoods, and support cities and counties to integrate resources and projects based on key renewal areas. By 2030, significant progress will be made in the implementation of urban renewal actions, and the urban renewal work mechanism, supporting policies, technical methods, and management systems will be further improved. A sustainable urban renewal model and policies and regulations will be basically formed, and urban historical and cultural heritage will be effectively protected to create a model for Hainan cities with regional characteristics, historical heritage, and contemporary style.
