Today, the concrete pouring for Unit 1 of the Jiangsu Xuxu Nuclear Heating and Power Plant of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) has begun, marking the official start of the main construction phase of the world's first nuclear energy comprehensive utilization project coupling "Hualong One" pressurized water reactor with high-temperature gas-cooled reactor. This signifies the beginning of a new chapter in China's nuclear energy development, shifting from mainly generating electricity to diversified energy supply.
