Barclays analyst: Artificial intelligence super large-scale enterprises will drive the increase in supply of US corporate bonds in 2026.
Barclays analysts predict that the total issuance of corporate bonds in the United States will reach $2.46 trillion in 2026, an increase of 11.8% from $2.2 trillion in 2025. The net issuance for the year is expected to be $945 billion, a 30.2% increase from last year's $726 billion. The bank points out that although the backlog of merger transactions and the refinancing needs of existing corporate debt may drive up the overall issuance of corporate bonds this year, the biggest driver will be the funding demand in the field of artificial intelligence.
