Guterres calls on all countries to abide by the United Nations Charter.

On January 15th, local time, United Nations Secretary-General Guterres outlined the priorities for work in 2026 to the UN General Assembly at the UN headquarters in New York. He stated that the world is currently in a state of "chaos" and called on all countries to fully adhere to the UN Charter, promote "peace with justice," and strengthen unity in the context of escalating global division.
