With profits surging and capital regulation policies relaxed, Wall Street banks returned a record amount of funds to shareholders, showing that executives are confident in increasing stock buyback efforts. In 2025, the six largest banks in the United States spent over $140 billion on dividends and buybacks, breaking the record set during Trump's first term in 2019.
