A Turkish airplane made an emergency landing due to a security threat.

Today, a Turkish Airlines plane took off from Istanbul, Turkey and had to make an emergency landing at El Prat Airport in Barcelona, Spain due to receiving a security threat. According to Catalonia Radio and Catalonia News Agency, the aircraft involved is an Airbus A321 with flight number TK1853, operating from Istanbul to Barcelona. There was a suspected bomb threat on board. The airport immediately activated its security emergency plan. The aircraft is currently parked in a remote area away from the terminal, and is being monitored by emergency rescue forces and fighter jets. The Spanish Civil Guard is evaluating and managing the situation.
