The Yunnan procuratorial organ has filed a public prosecution against Li Wei for alleged bribery in accordance with the law.
Recently, the case of Li Wei, former party member and deputy director of the Red River Prefecture People's Congress Standing Committee in Yunnan Province, suspected of bribery, has been concluded by the Yunnan Provincial Supervision Commission and transferred to the procuratorate for review and prosecution. Following the designation of jurisdiction by the Yunnan Provincial People's Procuratorate, the Red River Prefecture People's Procuratorate has filed a public prosecution with the Red River Prefecture Intermediate People's Court in accordance with the law. The case is currently under further investigation. During the prosecution stage, the procuratorial organs informed the defendant Li Wei of his litigation rights in accordance with the law and interrogated the defendant, and listened to the opinions of the defense counsel. The Red River Prefecture People's Procuratorate has accused the defendant Li Wei of taking advantage of his positions as member of the Red River Prefecture Jianshui County Party Committee, executive deputy county mayor, deputy secretary, county mayor, and county party secretary in Yuanyang County to illegally accept large amounts of money and property from others, for which he should be held criminally responsible for the crime of bribery.
