According to the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, China has now initially established a new type of nature reserve system with national parks as the main body, effectively protecting 90% of land ecosystems types and 74% of the population of wild animals and plants under national key protection. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China will further establish and improve a unified, standardized, and efficient new type of nature reserve system.
