The South-to-North Water Diversion Eastern Route water transfer project officially started in the years 2025 to 2026.

Today, the full-line water diversion work of Phase I of the Eastern Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project officially started for the 2025-2026 period. In the 2025-2026 period, it is planned to increase the net water supply to the receiving areas by 16.38 billion cubic meters, reaching a new historical high. Since the official operation of Phase I of the Eastern Route, 12 annual water diversion tasks have been successfully completed, providing sufficient water supply guarantee for the high-quality economic and social development of the receiving areas along the route.
