The population of Qinling golden snub-nosed monkeys has achieved a significant increase.

As one of the northernmost and most concentrated areas of distribution of Sichuan golden snub-nosed monkeys in China, the Zhouzhi National Nature Reserve in Shaanxi has created a good living environment for the monkeys through measures such as scientific and moderate feeding in winter and regular monitoring and protection. In recent years, with the continuous increase in the strength of ecological protection and restoration in the Qinling Mountains, the population of Sichuan golden snub-nosed monkeys in the Zhouzhi National Nature Reserve in Shaanxi has been continuously increasing. The population of Sichuan golden snub-nosed monkeys at the monitoring base has increased from over 180 in 2022 to over 340 now, with more than 40 new infants added in just 2025. The population of Sichuan golden snub-nosed monkeys in the reserve has also increased from over 1200 in the 1980s to around 2000.
