Saudi Arabia provides $500 million in development aid to Yemen.
Saudi Arabia's Development and Reconstruction Plan for Yemen issued a statement on the evening of the 14th, announcing the launch of a new batch of development assistance programs in multiple provinces in Yemen, worth over $500 million. The statement said that this batch of aid programs includes 28 projects and measures with a total value of approximately 19 billion Saudi Riyals, covering important areas such as health, energy, education, and transportation, aimed at strengthening Yemen's security, stability, and prosperity. Saudi Minister of Defense Khalid bin Salman met with Ali Mi, Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, in the capital Riyadh that day. The two sides discussed the development of the situation in Yemen, emphasizing the need to promote the resolution of the southern Yemen issue through a dialogue conference of representatives of various factions in southern Yemen to be held in Riyadh. Khalid stated that Saudi Arabia will continue to provide economic support and comprehensive development assistance projects to various provinces in Yemen through the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Plan for Yemen, a non-profit organization established in 2018 to support Yemen's reconstruction and development by providing economic and development aid in multiple areas.
