On the 13th, the US House of Representatives passed the "Shower Act", which plans to relax the federal government's flow restrictions on showerheads, aiming to fulfill the US President Trump's pledge to "make American showers great again". According to earlier reports from the BBC, in April 2025, Trump signed an executive order requiring the immediate repeal of water-saving limits on showerheads, washing machines, and other household appliances. He complained, "I need to stand under the water for 15 minutes to wet my 'hair'." The White House emphasized that the new executive order would allow American families to escape excessive regulation from bureaucracy, and showerheads would no longer be weak. The "showerhead battle" traces back to an energy law passed in the United States in 1992, which stipulates that showerheads cannot exceed a flow rate of 9.5 liters per minute. Trump had attempted to relax the restrictions during his first term, but Biden immediately overturned the former's "efforts" after taking office.
