In Pan Hao's view, last year's rally in emerging markets led by Xi Jinping was just a prelude to a more sustainable trend. The company is one of the world's largest bond management institutions. Pramol Dhawan, head of Pimco's emerging market investment portfolio management, said in an interview in New York: "This is a script that will continue for many years. We have no intention of withdrawing any chips. Not at all." A fund managed by Dhawan, which has a significantly overweight allocation to local currency government bonds of developing countries, has achieved a 22% return in the past year, outperforming nearly 90% of similar products. Data also shows that this has pushed its assets under management to around $6.4 billion, the highest level since 2013.
