OPEC Monthly Report: Russia's daily oil production is expected to decrease by about 0.7% year-on-year in 2025, overall remaining stable.
Russian oil production decreased slightly last year. Monthly data released by OPEC on Wednesday showed that Russia's daily crude oil production in 2025 decreased by about 0.7% year-on-year to 9.129 million barrels. Despite ongoing drone attacks on Russian energy infrastructure by Ukraine and a decline in international oil prices, Russia has still managed to maintain its crude oil production stable. Oil and gas collectively account for about one-fourth of the tax revenue in the Russian Federation's budget. Data shows that international oil prices fell by more than 18% in 2025, the largest annual drop since 2020, mainly due to increasing concerns about oversupply. Specifically, Russia's crude oil production decreased by 73,000 barrels per day in December, dropping to 9.304 million barrels per day.
