Argentina's inflation rate dropped to the lowest level in nearly 8 years in 2025.
The data released by the National Institute of Statistics and Census Studies of Argentina on the 13th shows that the country's inflation rate in 2025 is 31.5%, a decrease of 86.3 percentage points compared to 2024, the lowest level in nearly 8 years. Argentina's Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, said on social media that the significant decrease in inflation is an "extraordinary achievement". Since 2023, Argentina has experienced severe inflation, with a full year inflation rate of 117.8% in 2024. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development believes that despite the continuous decline in Argentina's inflation level and the mitigation of the fiscal deficit, the high volatility in currency demand and exchange rate pressure highlight the macroeconomic fragility and political uncertainty. Local media analysis suggests that current consumption in Argentina is declining, unemployment is rising, debt is continuously increasing, and the economy has not truly recovered.
