Brazil implements the Acupuncture Industry Regulations Act.

The Brazilian Federal Gazette announced on the 13th that President Lula signed the Acupuncture Professional Practice Regulations Act on the 12th, marking a more widespread and standardized recognition of acupuncture therapy in Brazil. According to this law, individuals holding acupuncture higher education degrees issued by officially recognized educational institutions, as well as individuals holding similar or equivalent higher education degrees from foreign institutions, can engage in acupuncture professional practice after verification and registration by the competent authorities. In addition to protecting the practice rights of acupuncturists with higher education degrees that are recognized, professionals who have not obtained formal qualifications but have been continuously and verifiably practicing acupuncture for at least 5 years are also authorized to engage in this profession.
