On January 14th, the Tesla official website showed that the adjustment of the charging fee standard for overstay in the mainland China region has taken effect. When the usage rate of the charging piles at the charging site reaches 100%, if the vehicle owner does not drive away within 20 minutes after the vehicle is fully charged or reaches the set charging limit, an overstay fee of 6.4 yuan per minute will be charged starting from when the vehicle is fully charged. The overstay fee will continue to accumulate based on the actual overstay time. If the vehicle owner drives away within 20 minutes, no overstay fee will be incurred. Tesla stated that the purpose of introducing the overstay fee policy is to improve the efficiency of the use of supercharging resources, not for profit purposes. If a vehicle owner incurs an overstay fee for the first time, the system will automatically waive that fee for the owner.
