The Taiwan Affairs Office responds to multiple foreign governments and officials' voices opposing Taiwan independence.
On January 14, the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office held a routine press conference. A reporter asked: Recently, many governments and important figures have reiterated their adherence to the One China principle, opposing any form of "Taiwan independence" and interference in China's internal affairs, and firmly supporting the Chinese government's efforts to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity. What is your comment on this? Spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office Zhu Fenglian responded: There is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is part of China. Adhering to the One China principle is a recognized international norm and a common consensus of the international community. The international community widely understands and supports the Chinese people's opposition to "Taiwan independence" activities and their just cause of seeking national reunification. We appreciate and thank them for their support.
