President Donald Trump rebutted Jamie Dimon's criticism of the Justice Department's investigation into the Federal Reserve, stating that the CEO of JPMorgan Chase implied that Trump was undermining the central bank's independence, which he called "incorrect." "I think what I'm doing is appropriate," Trump said, "and there's a person in the Federal Reserve who is terrible." Earlier on Tuesday, Dimon had expressed concern that the Justice Department's actions against the Fed could weaken the central bank's independence and potentially raise borrowing costs. Prior to this, the Justice Department had issued a grand jury subpoena to the Fed regarding Powell's testimony to Congress on the renovation of the Fed headquarters.
