President Trump refuted the criticism from JPMorgan Chase CEO Dimon regarding the Department of Justice investigating the Federal Reserve, stating that Dimon's belief that he is undermining the central bank's independence is "wrong." "I think what I'm doing is fine," Trump said, "and there is indeed a bad person in the Federal Reserve." Earlier on Tuesday, Dimon expressed concern about the DOJ investigating Powell. He said, "Everyone we know believes in the independence of the Federal Reserve. Any attempt to undermine this independence may not be a good idea in my opinion, as it could lead to the opposite result - higher inflation expectations and potentially raising interest rates over time." When asked about these comments, Trump responded, "I think he's wrong."
