Diageo considers selling Wuliangye? China region: "No comment on this"
After the newly appointed CEO took office, the disposal of Diageo's assets continued to spark market speculation. On January 13th, reports indicated that Diageo is considering disposing of its assets in China, including possibly selling assets, in order to streamline its global business portfolio, including requesting investment banks to assess its stake in Shuijingfang. In response, Diageo China stated that they "have no comment on this." It was reported that Diageo has hired Goldman Sachs and UBS to assist in evaluating its business in China, including its ownership of over 63% of Sichuan Shuijingfang. However, discussions are still in the early stages, and Diageo has not made a final decision nor is it certain that any transactions will be pursued.
