The National Health Commission held the first press conference of 2026 today. Experts introduced that, according to the data from national sentinel monitoring of acute respiratory infectious diseases, the overall positive rate of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in our country is showing an increasing trend. Among them, the positive rate of detection in northern provinces is significantly higher than that in southern provinces, especially in the age group of 0 to 4 years. However, overall, the positive detection rate of RSV is still lower than that of influenza virus. Currently, there is no vaccine for RSV, so strengthening protection is still an important measure to prevent infection.
