The first domestic underwater pumped storage energy storage system "Dongmu No. 1" has successfully passed its test.

According to China Electric Power News, on January 11th, the first domestic kilowatt-level underwater pumped storage energy storage system "Dongmu No. 1" independently developed by the Oriental Research Institute of the Oriental Electric Group successfully completed a 10-day underwater comprehensive test in Minhu, Fujian, filling the gap in domestic new underwater pumped storage energy technology. The success of this lake test verified the feasibility of the Oriental Electric's underwater energy storage technology solution path. This technology has strong environmental adaptability and can be applied to conventional water reservoirs of different depths across the country, giving them energy storage capabilities and solving the problem of limited site selection for onshore pumped storage power stations. It provides a new technical path for building regional flexible regulation systems.
