Final draft of the text is controversial, COP30 Chair urges all parties to reach consensus as soon as possible.
On the morning of the 21st local time, the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change entered its final sprint stage. Due to differences in the latest draft final text proposed by Brazil, negotiations have temporarily reached a stalemate. COP30 President Andr Corra do Lago said that the current negotiations face enormous challenges, and some priorities may not progress as expected. Do Lago warned that if parties cannot reach an agreement and implement the contents of the Paris Agreement, "everyone will suffer" because there are "no winners" in climate issues. In order to quickly facilitate consensus among all parties in the negotiations, Do Lago called for the establishment of a working group composed of ministers and delegation heads from various countries to conduct internal consultations and strive to reach possible consensus.
