The 2026 National Conference on Employment and Entrepreneurship for Graduates of Ordinary Colleges and Universities was held.

On November 20th, the Secretariat of the Central Leading Group for Education Work and the Ministry of Education held a meeting in Beijing on the employment and entrepreneurship work of the 2026 national ordinary college graduates. The meeting emphasized the need for careful planning and precise measures, with the aim of launching the "expanding and improving the quality of employment for college graduates" as the guiding principle. It focused on expanding job opportunities and improving services, strengthening departmental coordination, central-local linkage, coordinating policies with the market, stabilizing and expanding job opportunities, providing services and safety nets, integrating industry and education with supply and demand, balancing development with stability, improving mechanisms and implementing reforms and innovations, and striving to achieve stable employment for the 2026 college graduates. First, all local and relevant departments should prioritize employment as a "major issue" and better utilize the proactive role of the government. Employment policies should continue to be strengthened, with focus on consolidating, optimizing, and updating policy measures, and increasing support for key areas of employment. Secondly, all regions should focus on stabilizing and expanding job opportunities as a "major issue", using graduate employment as a lever to strengthen talent support for local economic and social development, encouraging economically developed provinces to take the lead, and maximizing the employment aggregation effect. It should strongly support the western and northeastern regions to increase their job opportunities.
