The Chinese Navy Task Group 989, which is carrying out a comprehensive sea training mission, arrived at Cam Ranh Port in Vietnam on the 21st to begin a 4-day friendly visit to Vietnam. In the early hours of the local time, the Chinese Navy ships Changbaishan, Zhenghe, and "Qianjing 1" arrived in the designated waters and met with the Vietnamese Navy's "Dinh Tien Hoang" frigate, forming a task group heading towards Cam Ranh Port and berthing at the port around 10 a.m. The staff of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, representatives of the local Chinese community, and Vietnamese Navy officers and soldiers welcomed the task group at the port despite the rain. The naval engineering and naval aviation students who are on the visit lined up on the deck to greet the welcoming crowd. This visit is the first time for the Changbaishan and "Qianjing 1" to visit Vietnam, and the third time for the Zhenghe to visit Vietnam. During the visit, the Changbaishan and Zhenghe will hold open ship activities, and the task group officers and soldiers will visit the Fourth Naval Zone of the Vietnamese Navy, the Vietnamese Naval Academy, and participate in visits, discussions, and friendly matches. The task group will also hold a deck reception on the Changbaishan on the evening of the 23rd.
